Quote challenge day 2: Dunyalaaaaar kadar

One of the first phrases in Turkish that I ever learned…and the one that means the most to me.

Dunyalaaaaaar kadar!

As much as the worlds

It’s a response to asking “how much do you love me?”.  We have this in English as well.  While other phrases that try to explain the extent of love miss the mark for me (i.e., to the moon and back.  Oh how I loathe this saying.  It is just…no.), this one has a purity that is unmatched.   I had this engraved on the inside of my husband’s wedding band before we got married.  I think it is one of those things you can’t really explain?

But this “quote” will always stand out to me, making me reminisce of when our love was new and we had no idea what an adventure our lives would become (mashallah).  .

Plus, I’m pretty sure the square mileage of all of the worlds (i.e. planets) is a lot more than the distance to the moon and back.  Just saying.
